Weight Loss Inspiration from Bridget Jones

I have been listening to the audio book "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy". She loses a lot of weight and her observations are hilarious. It's funny to read when she goes off the rails and does it so well that the
nurse whisks her to a group where she is the one who has fallen off the wagon the most spectacularly. I mean if you are going to cheat, do it in a big way!

I want to clarify I want to meet Bridget Jones after her success,
not at the part when she falls off the wagon.

This was what my week felt like. I had tremendous cravings for carbs and chocolate (thank you hormones) but I didn't find they satisfied when I ate them. So I ate more. And so the cycle continued. Sigh. I didn't drink my water nearly enough either (more sighing). Now it's the weekend and we have dinner plans at a restaurant and then tomorrow is the boy's 7th birthday party. Pizza and ice cream cake anyone?!

I also haven't had any energy at all to do my c25k program. I'm hoping to rest a bit and shake my head to get things going again.

If Bridget Jones can do it, so can I!

I'm sharing this post with these linky parties.

  1. It's hard to stay on the wagon when there are so many holidays, birthdays, and Krispy Kreme so close to home...the place my husband loves to drive through and bring home! :)

Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY.

  4. Bi Bridget, there is no easy path to weightloss but there are great rewards with each week of your journey, I recently lost 39 pounds, it took me a year and half with the encouragement of my brother who is a health coach, and today 2 years later, Im still working on it daily to maintain. It is when you reach out that it helps you get through the rough times and journaling on your blog is the best!!! You are doing great!!!

Google Skinny Water, its really refreshing!!

It does take a defining moment to really make you just go for it. It takes me a long time to build up to that point, unfortunately but when it hits I go full throttle. I hope you find your inspiration when you are ready to and that it is a success.

Thanks for Pinning me! I'll see you at next week's party for sure!

    1. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm desperately trying to resist the sweets as I too need something sweet at the end of a meal to feel "full".

  7. The word diet just makes me want to eat. lol! Seriously, when I try to diet I find myself craving more. I am better off just staying busy and cutting down on portions. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.

    1. Interestingly, my 8 year old daughter was asking if I was on a "diet" the other night at dinner because I make a separate dinner for myself. I am very cautious about how we approach dieting and body image to the children. I explained that everyone's eating is called their diet but I am adjusting mine by making healthier choices. I was truthful and it actually put it into perspective for me also.
