My aunt, who was 10 at the time, was sleeping over at my parents' home. My mother went into labour and they had to wake her up (I believe it was during the night). I was born around 6PM that evening.

ReplyDeleteMy mom was having a lot of contractions so she jumped in the tub to shave her legs (she didn't want the doctor to see her hairy legs that she let grow so loose because it was difficult to shave with a big belly). She called out to my dad every time she had a contraction and he timed them 5 min. apart! He called the nurse and she told them "when the contractions are closer than 10 min apart, come down here" So they jumped in the car and rushed to the hospital. My mom got an epidural and the contractions slowed down but I was still born 4 hours later :)
What a fun thing to randomly recall.
